Review Methodology

We score reloading equipment on bench-relevant criteria only. The five-point review methodology below is the same across every press, bench, scale and case-prep guide.

Scoring rubric

1. Bench fit & mounting. How stable is the press once bolted? Does the mounting hardware fit common bench tops?
2. Build quality. Material, fit and finish, machining, ram play.
3. Workflow ergonomics. Stroke length, handle reach, primer feed access, case feeding.
4. Accessory ecosystem. Availability of dies, shell holders, conversion kits and OEM accessories.
5. Beginner suitability. How well does the equipment match how a published reloading manual teaches the workflow?

What we never score on

• Velocity
• Pressure
• Group size at distance
• Component-specific load performance

If a question requires load data to answer, it falls outside our methodology — defer to a current published manual.
